2014 FERRARI F12 BERLINETTA - EX-CHRIS HARRIS

This Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is a wonderful example of a remarkable supercar, boasting a handsome factory colour combination, and full Ferrari main dealer service history. Its powertrain is the astonishing 6.3-litre naturally aspirated F140 FC V12, producing 730bhp, with rear-wheel drive via the seven-speed dual-clutch F1 transaxle. The odometer shows just 13,600 miles from new.

An original UK market right-hand drive example, it was specified in the elegant Canna di Fucile (gunmetal) grey, with an interior of sumptuous Iroko brown leather and subtle orange stitching. It was supplied new via Dick Lovett in Wiltshire, and was first registered in January 2014.

The second registered keeper from new was motoring journalist and presenter Chris Harris, and the car is now with its third owner. Since acquiring it three years ago, he has enjoyed some 3,500 miles behind the wheel. It is currently kept in humidity-controlled specialist storage in Berkshire, and since the seller has had few opportunities to enjoy it over the last year, he has decided to offer it to another enthusiast.

Its bodywork and paint finish are in excellent condition, as you would hope for, with the only imperfections being some very light stone chip marks to the front end. There is no damage around the body, and the car was specified from the factory with the recessed Scuderia wing shields.

This F12 Berlinetta was originally delivered with the standard five-spoke Speedline wheels, but was swapped to the lightweight forged Y-spoke alloys during Chris Harris’ ownership, since they save around 15kg in unsprung weight. There are now some minor nicks around the edges of the rims, and prominent kerb grazing to the nearside front wheel. They are finished with carbon-fibre centre caps, and house silver painted Brembo brake calipers over the carbon-ceramic discs.

The interior shows very few signs of wear, and certainly no damage to any of the leather or panel trims. Its seats both have full electric adjustment and heating, and there are memory settings for the driver. The leather upholstery is embellished with the desirable ‘Daytona’ style centre panels.

Factory-fitted equipment includes the LED steering wheel with carbon-fibre trim, dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, and the suspension lift system. There are also parking cameras at the front and back of the car. The Harman infotainment module incorporates satellite navigation, DAB digital radio, and Bluetooth, and is combined with the 12-speaker, 1280-watt JBL Professional audio system.

This car has full Ferrari main dealer history from new. Its last scheduled maintenance was carried out in June 2019 at 13,533 miles by HR Owen in London, which comprised a full annual service as well as fresh tyres.

Its two previous services were in May 2018 at 13,286 miles, and June 2017 at 11,742 miles. Bidders should note that the mileage at the 2018 service was incorrectly entered into the service book in kilometres rather than miles - hence it currently reads ‘21,381’ in the record. The Collecting Cars team has verified this with HR Owen directly, confirming by the official readouts, which are taken directly from the car’s computer on every visit, that the correct mileage was 13,286 miles in May 2018.

The most recent MOT was on 3 June 2019 at 13,533 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories whatsoever. Its alloy wheels are shod in Pirelli P Zero tyres in size 255/35 ZR20 at the front and 315/35 ZR20 at the rear, which have almost full tread remaining.

Accompanying the car are all of the original books, including the guarantee and stamped maintenance record, along with the factory-supplied tools, and the Ferrari car cover.

Summing up the car’s remarkable breadth of talent, the Autocar verdict on this Ferrari stated: “In an F12, you will never yearn for more power, nor for a faster, better gearshift: its dual-clutch unit is first class in its speed and smoothness,” adding, “it’s only ever visibility and the law that limit the speed with which you can cross country, such are the F12’s levels of ability”.

This Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is a thrilling supercar that benefits from a great specification, low mileage, and comprehensive maintenance history. Having previously been owned by one of the industry’s most respected pundits, it also boasts terrific provenance. A superb car from Ferrari’s recent back catalogue, this would make a compelling addition to any collection.
